Noema is proud to
announce that Lance Austin Olsen, Chris Warren and Roberto Romero Molina have
been invited to participate and perform at the twelfth Havana Biennial.
For those who aren't
familiar with the Havana biennial, Established in 1984, it is amongst the first,
long before the Art biennial boom that emerged in the mid-nineties. Over the
twenty-seven years since it's inception it has proven to be amongst the most
prestigious biennials in the world showcasing exceptional talents from all over
the world.
Congratulations to all,
but especially to Luis Ituarte, who has brought together and managed during
these last two years, this international collaboration between artist's from
three countries: Canada, U.S. and México. Undoubtedly this is a culmination of
his efforts and talents as much as those of Lance, Chris and Roberto.
The biennial takes
place in Havana from May 22nd through to June 22nd.
this years theme is:
"Between idea and experience"
Lance, Chris and
Roberto's installation "Time Afloat" will be inaugurated on May 24th,
consisting of a public sound installation in the heart of old Havana.
Plato's Cave a
graphic score piece by Lance Austin Olsen will be performed in Havana in
collaboration with Cuban and international artist.
Lance and Roberto
will perform at multiple public sites throughout Havana, with collaborations
from Chris and Luis at some of these venues.
